Navigate Vienna with the Wien Mobil App
The Wien Mobil App is one of the most useful apps to have on your phone, when you are visiting Vienna. When you search for your connection, the app shows you the different types of transport like subway, bus, tram and even bikes. But it also lets you know, when there are disruptions in the public transport system and suggests alternatives.

Search of a connection
Searching for a connection in the App is pretty straight forward. You search for your destination and customize the time of departure or arrival. The app will then suggest you different ways of transport like the subway, bus or tram as well as also taxi, bike or carsharing. The results can then be sorted by duration, arrival, departure and number of changes.
If you want to know what the departures from a specific stop are, you can simply tap on that stop. The app will then show you the next departures in real-time. It also indicates with a wheelchair icon if the approaching vehicle is barrier-free
Disruptions
Even though public transport in Vienna works really well, disruptions can sometimes occur. If that is the case on your route, the app will let you know.
For instance, if there is a disturbance like a line or an elevator being out of service, the app will inform you about it. You can also set up notifications for specific lines to get actively informed if there are any issues.
How to buy a ticket for the public transport in the app
If you want to buy a ticket, you need to register. The registration is free.
You can do that directly in the App or at the Wiener Linien online shop.
After that you can purchase your ticket in the app. And by doing so, you can benefit from online-only offers like the day-ticket or the 7 day ticket.
Then you can access your active ticket either through the red button on the start screen or via the main navigation.
